Translation of The Holy Quran

80. ‘Abasa (He Frowned)

كَلَّا إِنَّهَا تَذْكِرَةٌO(11)

(اے حبیبِ مکرّم!) یوں نہیں بیشک یہ (آیاتِ قرآنی) تو نصیحت ہیںo

(O My Esteemed Beloved!) Not so indeed! These (Verses of the Holy Qur’an) are but advice.

فَمَن شَاءَ ذَكَرَهُO(12)

جو شخص چاہے اسے قبول (و اَزبر) کر لےo

The one who seeks may accept it (and learn by heart).

فِي صُحُفٍ مُّكَرَّمَةٍO(13)

(یہ) معزّز و مکرّم اوراق میں (لکھی ہوئی) ہیںo

(They are inscribed) on venerable and revered pages,

مَّرْفُوعَةٍ مُّطَهَّرَةٍO(14)

جو نہایت بلند مرتبہ (اور) پاکیزہ ہیںo

Which are exalted (and) purified,

بِأَيْدِي سَفَرَةٍO(15)

ایسے سفیروں (اور کاتبوں) کے ہاتھوں سے (آگے پہنچی) ہیںo

(Have come forth) by the hands of emissaries (and scribes),

كِرَامٍ بَرَرَةٍO(16)

جو بڑے صاحبانِ کرامت (اور) پیکرانِ طاعت ہیںo

Who are possessors of eminence (and) embodiments of obedience.

قُتِلَ الْإِنسَانُ مَا أَكْفَرَهُO(17)

ہلاک ہو (وہ بد بخت منکر) انسان کیسا نا شکرا ہے (جو اتنی عظیم نعمت پا کر بھی اس کی قدر نہیں کرتا)o

Ruin seize (the cursed disbelieving) man! How ungrateful he is! (He does not honour the award of such a great blessing after receiving it.)

مِنْ أَيِّ شَيْءٍ خَلَقَهُO(18)

اللہ نے اسے کس چیز سے پیدا فرمایا ہےo

From what stuff has Allah created him?

مِن نُّطْفَةٍ خَلَقَهُ فَقَدَّرَهُO(19)

نطفہ میں سے اس کو پیدا فرمایا، پھر ساتھ ہی اس کا (خواص و جنس کے لحاظ سے) تعین فرما دیاo

He created him from a sperm drop, then determined his measure along with that (regarding genes and sex),

ثُمَّ السَّبِيلَ يَسَّرَهُO(20)

پھر (تشکیل، ارتقاء اور تکمیل کے بعد بطنِ مادر سے نکلنے کی) راہ اس کے لئے آسان فرما دیo

Then (after structuring, developing and completing it) eased for him the passage (of delivery from the mother’s womb),
