Translation of The Holy Quran

78. An-Naba’ (the Great News)

وَجَعَلْنَا اللَّيْلَ لِبَاسًاO(10)

اور ہم نے رات کو (اس کی تاریکی کے باعث) پردہ پوش بنایا (ہے)o

And We (have) made the night a covering (by virtue of its darkness).

وَجَعَلْنَا النَّهَارَ مَعَاشًاO(11)

اور ہم نے دن کو (کسبِ) معاش (کا وقت) بنایا (ہے)o

And We (have) made the day (a time) for (earning) livelihood.

وَبَنَيْنَا فَوْقَكُمْ سَبْعًا شِدَادًاO(12)

اور (اب خلائی کائنات میں بھی غور کرو) ہم نے تمہارے اوپر سات مضبوط (طبقات) بنائےo

And (now study the spatial universe as well). We built above you seven strong (firmaments).

وَجَعَلْنَا سِرَاجًا وَهَّاجًاO(13)

اور ہم نے (سورج کو) روشنی اور حرارت کا (زبردست) منبع بنایاo

And We made (the sun a massive) fountainhead of light and heat.

وَأَنزَلْنَا مِنَ الْمُعْصِرَاتِ مَاءً ثَجَّاجًاO(14)

اور ہم نے بھرے بادلوں سے موسلادھار پانی برسایاo

And We poured water in torrents from rain-laden clouds,

لِّنُخْرِجَ بِهِ حَبًّا وَنَبَاتًاO(15)

تاکہ ہم اس (بارش) کے ذریعے (زمین سے) اناج اور سبزہ نکالیںo

So that by means of this (downpour) We bring forth (from the earth) grain and vegetation,

وَجَنَّاتٍ أَلْفَافًاO(16)

اور گھنے گھنے باغات (اگائیں)o

And (grow) thick gardens.

إِنَّ يَوْمَ الْفَصْلِ كَانَ مِيقَاتًاO(17)

(ہماری قدرت کی ان نشانیوں کو دیکھ کر جان لو کہ) بیشک فیصلہ کا دن (قیامت بھی) ایک مقررہ وقت ہےo

(Observing these signs of Our Might, know that) the Day of Judgment (Resurrection too) is certainly a fixed time.

يَوْمَ يُنفَخُ فِي الصُّورِ فَتَأْتُونَ أَفْوَاجًاO(18)

جس دن صور پھونکا جائے گا تو تم گروہ در گروہ (اﷲ کے حضور) چلے آؤ گےo

The Day when the Trumpet will be blown, you will flock (in the Holy Presence of Allah) in droves.

وَفُتِحَتِ السَّمَاءُ فَكَانَتْ أَبْوَابًاO(19)

اور آسمان (کے طبقات) پھاڑ دیئے جائیں گے تو (پھٹنے کے باعث گویا) وہ دروازے ہی دروازے ہو جائیں گےo

And the (layers of) heaven shall be torn and (owing to the rip) they will become (as if) all doors.
