Translation of The Holy Quran

47. Muhammad (Muhammad)

الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَصَدُّوا عَن سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ أَضَلَّ أَعْمَالَهُمْO(1)

جن لوگوں نے کفر کیا اور (دوسروں کو) اﷲ کی راہ سے روکا (تو) اﷲ نے ان کے اعمال (اخروی اجر کے لحاظ سے) برباد کر دیئےo

Those who disbelieve and hinder (others) from the way of Allah, Allah destroys their actions (as for their reward in the Hereafter).

وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ وَآمَنُوا بِمَا نُزِّلَ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَهُوَ الْحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّهِمْ كَفَّرَ عَنْهُمْ سَيِّئَاتِهِمْ وَأَصْلَحَ بَالَهُمْO(2)

اور جو لوگ ایمان لائے اور نیک عمل کرتے رہے اور اس (کتاب) پر ایمان لائے جو محمد (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) پر نازل کی گئی ہے اور وہی ان کے رب کی جانب سے حق ہے اﷲ نے ان کے گناہ ان (کے نامۂ اعمال) سے مٹا دیئے اور ان کا حال سنوار دیاo

And those who embrace faith and do pious works persistently and believe in this (Book) which has been revealed to Muhammad (blessings and peace be upon him) and that is the very Truth from their Lord, Allah erases their evil works from their (record of deeds) and refines their states of being.

ذَلِكَ بِأَنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا اتَّبَعُوا الْبَاطِلَ وَأَنَّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اتَّبَعُوا الْحَقَّ مِن رَّبِّهِمْ كَذَلِكَ يَضْرِبُ اللَّهُ لِلنَّاسِ أَمْثَالَهُمْO(3)

یہ اس لئے کہ جن لوگوں نے کفر کیا وہ باطل کے پیچھے چلے اور جو لوگ ایمان لائے انہوں نے اپنے رب کی طرف سے (اتارے گئے) حق کی پیروی کی، اسی طرح اﷲ لوگوں کے لئے ان کے احوال بیان فرماتا ہےo

That is because those who disbelieve follow falsehood and those who believe follow the Truth (sent down) from their Lord. That is how Allah illustrates for people their states of being.

فَإِذا لَقِيتُمُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا فَضَرْبَ الرِّقَابِ حَتَّى إِذَا أَثْخَنتُمُوهُمْ فَشُدُّوا الْوَثَاقَ فَإِمَّا مَنًّا بَعْدُ وَإِمَّا فِدَاءً حَتَّى تَضَعَ الْحَرْبُ أَوْزَارَهَا ذَلِكَ وَلَوْ يَشَاءُ اللَّهُ لَانتَصَرَ مِنْهُمْ وَلَكِن لِّيَبْلُوَاْ بَعْضَكُم بِبَعْضٍ وَالَّذِينَ قُتِلُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَلَن يُضِلَّ أَعْمَالَهُمْO(4)

پھر جب (میدان جنگ میں) تمہارا مقابلہ (متحارب) کافروں سے ہو تو (دورانِ جنگ) ان کی گردنیں اڑا دو، یہاں تک کہ جب تم انہیں (جنگی معرکہ میں) خوب قتل کر چکو تو (بقیہ قیدیوں کو) مضبوطی سے باندھ لو، پھر اس کے بعد یا تو (انہیں) (بلامعاوضہ) احسان کر کے (چھوڑ دو) یا فدیہ (یعنی معاوضہِء رہائی) لے کر (آزاد کر دو) یہاں تک کہ جنگ (کرنے والی مخالف فوج) اپنے ہتھیار رکھ دے (یعنی صلح و امن کا اعلان کر دے)۔ یہی (حکم) ہے، اور اگر اﷲ چاہتا تو ان سے (بغیر جنگ) انتقام لے لیتا مگر (اس نے ایسا نہیں کیا) تاکہ تم میں سے بعض کو بعض کے ذریعے آزمائے، اور جو لوگ اﷲ کی راہ میں قتل کر دیئے گئے تو وہ ان کے اعمال کو ہرگز ضائع نہ کرے گاo

So when you are to fight (for the elimination of militancy and terrorism) against the (warring) disbelievers (in the battlefield), strike their necks (while fighting because they took innocent human lives and destroyed peace by their terrorist activities) till, when you have killed a good many of them (in the battle), then tie (the remaining prisoners) tightly. Thereafter either set (them) free (without ransom) as a favour or (free them) for ransom (i.e. cost of freedom) till the warring (hostile army) lays down its weapons (i.e. announces the truce). That is (the command). And if Allah had willed, He would have avenged Himself on them (without war). But (He did not do so) in order to try some of you by means of others. And as for those who are slain in the way of Allah, He will not at all make their actions fruitless.

سَيَهْدِيهِمْ وَيُصْلِحُ بَالَهُمْO(5)

وہ عنقریب انہیں (جنت کی) سیدھی راہ پر ڈال دے گا اور ان کے احوالِ (اُخروی) کو خوب بہتر کر دے گاo

He will soon put them on the straight path (of Paradise) and will greatly enhance their states of being (in the Hereafter).

وَيُدْخِلُهُمُ الْجَنَّةَ عَرَّفَهَا لَهُمْO(6)

اور (بالآخر) انہیں جنت میں داخل فرما دے گا جس کی اس نے (پہلے ہی سے) انہیں خوب پہچان کرا دی ہےo

And He will (ultimately) admit them to Paradise which He has (already) made well known to them.

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِن تَنصُرُوا اللَّهَ يَنصُرْكُمْ وَيُثَبِّتْ أَقْدَامَكُمْO(7)

اے ایمان والو! اگر تم اﷲ (کے دین) کی مدد کرو گے تو وہ تمہاری مدد فرمائے گا اور تمہارے قدموں کو مضبوط رکھے گاo

O Believers! If you help (Din [Religion] of) Allah, He will help you and will make your feet firm.

وَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا فَتَعْسًا لَّهُمْ وَأَضَلَّ أَعْمَالَهُمْO(8)

اور جنہوں نے کفر کیا تو ان کے لئے ہلاکت ہے اور (اﷲ نے) ان کے اعمال برباد کر دیئےo

And those who disbelieve, for them is destruction and (Allah) has ruined their actions.

ذَلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ كَرِهُوا مَا أَنزَلَ اللَّهُ فَأَحْبَطَ أَعْمَالَهُمْO(9)

یہ اس وجہ سے کہ انہوں نے اس (کتاب) کو ناپسند کیا جو اﷲ نے نازل فرمائی تو اس نے ان کے اعمال اکارت کر دیئےo

That is because they hate that (Book) which Allah has sent down so He has made their actions come to nothing.

أَفَلَمْ يَسِيرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ فَيَنظُرُوا كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ دَمَّرَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلِلْكَافِرِينَ أَمْثَالُهَاO(10)

کیا انہوں نے زمین میں سفر و سیاحت نہیں کی کہ وہ دیکھ لیتے کہ ان لوگوں کا انجام کیسا ہوا جو ان سے پہلے تھے۔ اﷲ نے ان پر ہلاکت و بربادی ڈال دی۔ اور کافروں کے لئے اسی طرح کی بہت سی ہلاکتیں ہیںo

Have they not travelled and toured in the earth so that they could see the fate of those who passed before them? Allah cast upon them total destruction. There are many such calamities awaiting the disbelievers.
